Here we are 28 Weeks! Not ready yet, still baking.

We were out and about, and we saw this beautiful rainbow and wanted to share.
Also, we were out this weekend on the Kaneohe Bay Sand Bar, and can you believe that not one soul brought a camera, Ughh! No pictures, but it was a perfect day on the pontoon boat with very good friends enjoying the sun and surf, and a walk to the edge of the sand bar. Another wonderful weekend in paradise (Junior's future place of birth). Love you guys!

So, Erika had her periodic check-up today. The Midwife Nurse was listening to the heartbeat of Junior when she said, "Just like a boy, a little slow". It took me a while to figure out what she meant (which only proved her point), until she said, "I mean the heartbeat (130-140 Bpm)". Junior's healthy as a... 27 week and 3 day old fetus, and we couldn't be more excited to meet him.

Think about this: He isn't even born and yet he has had such a profound effect on our lives - we talk about him, shop for him, talk to him, read books to him, change our schedules to accomodate him. This truly solidifies the idea that life happens not at birth, but at conception. He is not even aware that he exists yet, but he's already had an impact on the World outside the belly.

There comes a moment when you just know you've arrived. Rewind about 2 months ago... Mom and Dad both went to the gym followed by a trip to Babies R Us. Mom asks, "Can we park in the expecting Mother Parking Spot?" to which Dad replies, "You just ran 5 miles on the treadmill - Let's leave it for someone who needs it." Well today we've arrived. We parked in the "Pregnant More Than Six Months" Spot at the Commisary because we are in fact 7 months pregnant. Watch out!

News alert - Mom's (Erika's) next medical check-up is 12 February.

Just to recap the last visit: The sonogramographer (?) told us Junior was "textbook". Dad (Greg) asked, "by textbook, do you mean larger than average brain capacity?" - a simple "No" from the sonogramographer and a roll of Erika's eyes was all I got.

Today (Friday) I met Erika at her work where she teaches fitness to kids (2 hours / twice a week) and we went on a "hot date" at Formaggio's in Kailua (pictures are Erika in action and our scandalous date after).

I wonder if Junior will have an affinity to Hawaii seeing that's where his birth certificate will be from? Even though I spent all of 1 year of my life (the first year) living in Philadelphia I still recognize it as my birthplace and feel some pride about that. We will make it a point to tell Junior all about Hawaii and what it meant to his Mom and I. Maybe when he's old enough we'll tell him about Kauai, where it all started. Junior Adams - Made in Hawaii.
