Mrs. Borden

16 Days and counting....

We had the pleasure of spending our Sunday with Greg's High School English Teacher, long time pen pal, Naval Academy Football fan, and friend - Mrs. Gloria Borden. A grandmother of 15, she had no problems coaxing a smile out of young Benjamin. There it is, that elusive smile! We assure you he smiles like this often, but for some reason cannot seem to capture it on camera. Thanks Mrs. Borden.
Mrs. Borden and Greg, right after Mrs. Borden critiques Greg's grammar and sentence structure on this blog.... kidding (I use spell chek).

Another productive Saturday

17 Days and counting before we board that jet airliner for Newport RI - can you believe it? Today we visited Benjamin's Auntie Peg at the Kailua Racquet Club, and stopped by Kaneohe Marine Corps Base to close a deal on our Jeep Wrangler that's been on sale for the last 1 month plus; Phew!

Auntie Peg and Mom:

A rare site - Mom and Dad, no Benjamin. Luckily Benjamin learned early how to use auto-focus:
Friday afternoon we took Benjamin for his 2nd swimming lesson. Our first attempt was met with tears, but this time he was a regular fish that one! Swimming with Daddy:

Auntie Heather's Birthday!

It was Auntie Heather's Birthday yesterday (21 June). Benjamin is so proud of his Auntie and very proud that she placed 2nd in her latest Adventure Race.

"Auntie, can you teach me how to ride a bike?" - Benjamin

Father's Day!!!

I love my very talented 5-week-old son, and my VERY creative wife. Thanks Team Adams for an exceptional First Father's Day. I am speechless.

Benjamin's First SWIM!

(Read in Steve Irwin voice): There he is the sleeping Human Baby. You've got to be very careful when handling one of these buggers, any moment they can wake up and be very ferocious - LOOK OUT!
... every precaution is made not to disturb the sleeping giant - oh no, cold water - you've awaken the beast!
... and there he is the ferocious human baby, a strong bark, and an even stronger bite!

CAPED CRUSADER

Who is that Masked Man?!

Look Mom! I can hold my head up - No Hands!

Benjamin has started taking the bottle from Dad, which greatly pleases Mom, and allows Dad to help out with the first feeding of the morning before he heads off to work. Benjamin and Mom all tuckered out after a day's work of being cute as can be... and feeding, and changing diapers, and feeding, and fussing, and changing diapers... (REPEAT)
I'd be remiss if I didn't appropriately advertise a day in the life of one "Fussy Bussy Benjamin", as Erika likes to refer to him. Just so Family and Friends back home can't say, "He looked so sweet and innocent on the blog". Here goes a typical transition (in pictures):

GOD BLESS YOU (The Sneezy Hiccup):

On Thursday, Benjamin saw his first military Change of Command. Our friend LTCol Chris Tavuchis relinquished command of 1st Battalion 12th Marines at Kaneohe Marine Corps Base. It was a nice event - for a Marine Change of Command (Where's the Ship?) Nice guns!
Fix Bayonets!!!

And of course Benjamin at "Parade Rest".

Benjamin has a new friend. We call him Benjamin Bear. Benjamin Bear and Benjamin Baby - it's just easier that way.
Tuckered out - 'Nough Said
Good job Benjamin!!!

It takes a second or two to download, so be patient:

Who's that lady?

Benjamin and his girlfriend Macy Alena Rogerson. I had a few comments about Benjamin's hat, or his age... but I can't - this picture is just too precious.

Monday, June 7, 2010

Team Adams-Silva took a Sunday stroll through the Botanical Gardens in Kaneohe. Benjamin liked the gravel paths... rocked him right to sleep.

That is one tuckered out Keiki !!!

Tennis and Bath-time

Benjamin made his debut at the Kailua Raquet Club (affectionately known as the K-R-C) where he cheered on his favorite Aunties on the TOMCATS. Sign reads, "I love my Aunties on the Tomcats".
Dad and his favorite Tennis watching Buddy.
A quick stop at Hope Chapel for the 5pm service on our way home. Who's that pretty lady? Is that Benjamin's Mommy? Kaneohe in the background - we're gonna miss that view.
Playtime with Daddy

At the risk of embarrassing Benjamin when he's 13, we weren't sure if we were going to publish bath videos. But seeing that they're too precious to pass up and that we used discretion (these are PG-13)... here goes:

ALL BENJAMIN, ALL THE TIME

To Benjamin's adoring fans - we apologize for the interruption of the steady stream of pictures and stories over the last couple of weeks. Dad returned to work last Friday and hasn't quite figured out the balance between work, sleep, and blog. Without further delay, the man himself in picture and video.
